Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure Showcase 2026

25-26 November 2026 Join us in Southampton on 25–26 November 2026 for the PSDI Showcase 2026, bringing together researchers, technical specialists, data professionals and others interested in the future of data and digital research in the physical sciences. The Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure (PSDI) is working with the research community to develop the data, software and digital infrastructure needed to support data-intensive and AI-enabled physical sciences research. Across two days, the Showcase will offer keynote talks, interactive panel discussions, networking and the opportunity to explore 13 PSDI resources and projects (and counting) through our exhibition and poster sessions.

RSC CICAG Quantum Computing in Chemistry: Current Capabilities

and the Road to Utility

February 2027 - Online Quantum computing has the potential to revolutionise computational science but has yet to do so. What has it done for chemistry already, what can it do now, and what might it be able to do in the future? This meeting will bring together people working on the applications of quantum computing to chemistry. It will focus on current capabilities and analyse the road to utility. Is quantum computing useful now in addressing specific molecular problems? When will we reach the milestones needed to expand its utility? It will be useful for chemists working in electronic structure theory, molecular design, property prediction and modelling chemical processes. It will answer the questions of what can be done now in each of these fields, and how long we might need to wait for practical quantum computing tools.

SCI-RSC Workshop on Computational Tools for Drug Discovery

2027

th

April 7th 2027 All scientists working in drug discovery need tools and techniques for handling chemical information. This workshop offers a unique opportunity for delegates to try out a range of software packages for themselves, with expert tuition in different aspects of pre-clinical drug discovery. Attendees will be able to choose from sessions covering data processing and visualisation; ligand and structure-based design, or ADMET prediction run by the software providers. All software and training materials required for the workshop will be provided for attendees to install and run on their own laptops and use for a limited period afterwards. This is an in-person event and an excellent opportunity for delegates to network.
